And Just As Easily As I Had Disappeared, I Magically Reappeared Into Google
Posted April 6, 2007 | by irene | in News | one responseAfter 9 days of being unceremoniously dumped from Google’s pages, my site got relisted in the Google search engine.
I was checking my site stats, forlornly and dejectedly, and much less often since the numbers were so low since being demoted, when I immediately noticed that at 3pm I had 55 page views. Considering for the past week 44 page views was my all time high, this meant something was up.
Quickly I did a search for “Charlie goes to candy mountain” in Google, and there was Bitter Tonic listed two spots below YouTube. I double-checked my other pages, and yup, they were all there too.
And so with all my investigating, I have come to the conclusion that my reason for being dumped was just one of those accidental things. In fact, Google writes about this candidly on their webmaster page.
While we’re always working to include more content in Google, sites can occasionally fall out of our search results. Our spiders regularly crawl the web to rebuild our index, but keeping tabs on billions of pages is tough work, and we may miss a few.
Ouch. And wow. Definitely a distressing learning period.

Can’t wait to get this! I can feel a sick day coming so I can stay home from Uni and waste time playing this.
